Interests, expertise and current research areas

Dr Rosmawijah’s main research interests are in the area of innovative teaching and learning, reflective practice, citizenship education, and teacher education. She was a member of the 21st Century Teaching and Learning (21CTL) research project. The 21CTL project was launched in collaboration with SRI International, USA and the Ministry of Education, Brunei Darussalam, funded by the Brunei Research Council. She was also a member of the research project on Comparative Study on Education for ASEANNESS and Citizenship Education in Ten ASEAN countries in collaboration with Oita University funded by Grant-in-Aid for Scientific Research of JSPS, Japan. She has worked in a research project in collaboration with the Ministry of Education, Brunei and the World Bank for the SABER (Systems Approach for Better Education Results) Benchmarking project for Student Assessment in Brunei Darussalam. Dr Rosmawijah was involved with the Virtual University for Small States Countries (VUSSC), Commonwealth of Learning for the curriculum design for Master of Educational Leadership at NIE, Singapore as well as for Postgraduate Diploma in Education programme at University of Samoa. She has worked closely with the Ministry of Education in training school leaders for the School Leadership Programme (SLP) as well as training secondary and primary teachers for the School-Based Assessment for Learning (SBAfL) programme.
