Master of Education by Coursework

The Master of Education (MEd) degree provides graduate educators the opportunity to further develop their knowledge of and skills in education. In addition, studies within MEd provide opportunities to develop critical analytic skills through engagement with cutting edge international research in education. The research modules in the programme are designed to enhance practice and provide a foundation for doctoral studies in education.

Furthermore, this programme is designed to enhance the professional development of educators and education administrators. The candidates will undertake a supervised study of research, research training and attending subject-related modules at master level. This programme provides the candidates to focus on areas of specific interests to refine teaching, learning and assessment expertise.

It is important to note that the M Ed degree does not confer qualified teacher status, which is required in order to teach in government schools in Brunei or in some sections of the Ministry of Education. Applicants wishing to become qualified teachers should apply for the MTeach programme. The MEd degree is appropriate for experienced teachers. It is not intended as an initial qualification in Education.
