On 29th September 2014, SHBIE received a courtesy visit from Professor Matoba Masami of Tokaigakuen University and Associate Professor Yoshiaki Shibata of Nagoya University. Present to welcome them was Dr Masitah Shahrill, Acting Dean of SHBIE, who is also the Deputy Dean Academic. The visit started with an exchange of brief introductions between members of SHBIE faculty staff with Professor Matoba Masami and Associate Professor Yoshiaki Shibata. Other members of the faculty were also present during the visit. Dr Masitah began with showcasing a general overview of Brunei, and a short introduction to SHBIE’s history and how it progressed from a teacher training college into a graduate school. Among other things included in the presentation were SHBIE’s major programmes areas, stakeholders, academic staff statistics as well as the graduate programmes offered. The presentation ended with a brief outlook of future plans for SHBIE and a discussion session.
Professor Matoba Masami and Associate Professor Yoshiaki Shibata will be presenting and facilitating the Lesson Study Seminar, to be held on 1st October 2014, co-organised by SHBIE and Department of Schools, Ministry of Education.
