Dr Hjh Nur-Ashikin’s expertise is in Curriculum and Instruction specifically for the teaching and learning of Islamic Education and Melayu Islam Beraja (MIB) Education. Her current research areas are creative teaching and learning for Islamic Education and MIB Education; pedagogy and assessment for learning; Brunei youth; practices of MIB values; financial literacy; and learning through community service.

Previously, Dr Hjh Nur-Ashikin taught MIB as a subject in secondary schools and for MEd program. Currently, she is active in delivering MIB workshops to schools and by invitation from the Majlis Tertinggi Melayu Islam Beraja (MTMIB)
